Lawrence McGuigan, Jr. was born in Ireland, Lawrence farmed some of the family homestead in Taylor township NE of town. About 1870 he married Grace Bradley. Grace was born in Ireland and lived in Chicago before arriving here. The couple had one child who died infancy and one adopted son, Joseph, who later died in St. Paul, MN. Grace McGuigan died at the age of 78 in August 1910. Lawrence died at the age of 61 on July 17, 1898. Their graves are on the southeast side of St. Joe’s Cemetery.
