On Monday morning, February 25th, occurred the death of Mrs. Johanna Doyle, one of the early settlers of Whitewater Township, at her home in Cascade, at the ripe age of 80 years. Her maiden name was Johanna Griffin, and she was born in County Kerry, Ireland. She came to America when quite and settled in the state of New York, where she was married to Patrick D. Lane. With her husband she moved west to Whitewater Township. Her first husband died and she married again. Some fifteen years ago she came to Cascade and lived here ever since. Her daughter Mrs. Bryan Donahue, of Cascade, and John T. Lane, on the farm, survive her, and also her granddaughter, Miss Lula Drew deceased.

Mrs. Doyle was a devout catholic and sank to rest fortified by all the sacred rites of the church. She was a loving mother, and kind and generous to those in need or distress.
