David Swope Dead

David Swope, a pioneer settler of Cascade, died last Monday night, after a lingering illness. He was over 82 years old, having been born in Fairfield County, Ohio, June 15th, 1812, and settled in this section about 1841. He was an upright and worthy citizen.

He leaves seven children to mourn his death, viz: Thomas, Charles, and Mrs. Ord, of Colorado Springs; Mrs. Barton, of Bellevue; and Misses Mary, Jane and Mae at home.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock, from the family residence. Rev. James Hill conducted the service.

The children of deceased desire to return their sincere gratitude to the friends who tender sympathy and assistance during the illness and time of the death of their father.
