DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Darlene A. O'Connor, 86, of Dyersville, died Monday, July 16, 2018, at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at St .Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Ralph Davis will officiate.

Darlene was born May 14, 1932, in New Vienna, Iowa, the daughter of Leo A. and Alvina (Bries) Meyer. She married Francis J. O'Connor on June 21, 1949, in New Vienna, Iowa, a marriage that lasted 65 years until Frank's death in 2014. Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who enjoyed cooking for her family and playing games with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include 3 children, Judy (Bill) Engler, of Dyersville, Tom (Yong) O'Connor, of Katy, TX, and Kris (Clint) Toennies, of O'Fallon, IL; 5 grandchildren, Tim (Lindsay) O'Connor, of Seattle, WA, Jennifer (Craig) Borchers, of Mt. Pleasant, WI, Lisa Engler, of Oakland, CA, Samantha and Grace Toennies, of O'Fallon, IL; 1 great-grandson, Donovan O'Connor; siblings, Merlin (Kathy) Meyer, of New Vienna and Mary Heinrichs, of Dyersville; one brother-in-law, Bernard O'Connor, of Mundelein, IL; a sister-in-law, Nancy O'Connor, of Ankeny, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, Leo (Virginia) Meyer and Alvin (Dorothy) Meyer; brothers-in-law, Bob Heinrichs, Dr. Lowell O'Connor, Louis O'Connor, and a sister-in-law, Jean O'Connor.

The family would like to thank the staffs of the Univ. of Iowa Hospitals, Stonehill Care Center, and Hospice of Dubuque for the fine care and compassion provided.

Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Xavier Basilica and Beckman Catholic High School.
