KILLED IN A RUNAWAY

William Carberry Meets With Fatal
Accident at Center Grove, Near
Dubuque - Was Thrown From
Wagon and Killed Instantly
~
Special to the Times Republican
Dubuque, July 7 – While driving on the Delhi Road, one and one half miles west of Center Grove, the horses driven by William Carberry took fright at an object in the road and ran away, throwing the river heavily to the ground and killing him.

Carberry came to Dubuque with a load of milk and was on his way to the county poor farm, where he is an inmate. The animals ran for a long distance before they were caught. Passersby happened to see Carberry lying on the roadside, and he was not dead. He was placed in a conveyance, and it was while on the way to the institution that he died.
