Fred L. Meighan, 69, if 1531 Maple St., died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of James Kendall, where he resided.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at Behr's. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Nativity, with the Rev. Joseph O'Brien, ass't. pastor, offering the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Meighan operated Meighan's Cafe Restaurant in Dubuque for many years. He was born in Shullsburg, Wis., the son of James and Mary Kearns Meighan, but resided in Dubuque most of his life.
He married Marie England in 1917. She died in 1957.
Meighan was a member of Dubuque Post 6 of the American Legion and was a World War I veteran.
Survivinga are one son, Louis Meighan, Springfield, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Foley of La Crosse, Wis., and Mrs. Hattie Turner of Dubuque; and three grandchildren.
The Nativity Parish Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Behr's.
