Margaret E. Dolson, 96, of Stonehill Care Center and formerly of 3090 Karen Rd., died Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Stonehill Care Center. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 2nd, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, with a Parish scripture wake service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Rev. Steven Rosonke officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Margaret was born on January 31,1923, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Elizabeth (Russ) Henschel. She attended Dubuque Senior High School and graduated in 1940. On October 24, 1942, Margaret married Henry "Hank" Dolson at Santa Ana Army Air Base, Orange County, CA. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2007.
Margaret and Hank were avid members of the Tri State Twirlers square dancers, followed the Cubs religiously, enjoyed more than 20 winters together in Ft. Pierce, Florida, and we're married to each other for 65 years. Margaret loved that she was able to watch the Cubbies win a World Series, and she continued to watch them as often as she could. She was a member and supporter of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and EWTN for many years, loved to play euchre, was an avid bridge player, loved to knit and crochet, and enjoyed following all her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments in life.
Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Dick) Noesen of Dubuque, Cathy (Roger) Puls of Hoffman Estates, IL, Jeanne Keck of Dubuque, Stephen Dolson of Nederland, CO, Timothy (Carol) Dolson of Dubuque, Janice (Monty) Casebolt of Livingston, MT, Peter (Bonnie) Dolson of Ft. Pierce, FL, Mary Alice (Dale) Dolson of Lakewood, CO and Randy (Peggy) Dolson of North Liberty, IA; 41 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank; her son, Dennis; her grandson Thomas Keck; her great grandson, Miles Dolson; her siblings, Dolores Manley, Mary Jane Harstick, Eileen Richmond, Kathleen (Frank) Hoover, Emil (Bernice) Henschel, Richard (Jean) Henschel, and niece Lorlee Manley Ihm.
In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, memorials will be accepted by the family to be used for those families in need in the Holy Family Catholic School System. Online condolences may be left for the family at egelhofsiegertcasper.com.
