JOHN McEVOY

John McEvoy, retired railroad man and farmer, who had been a resident at St. Anthony’s Home for aged since Oct. 5, 1886 died at the Home Wednesday morning at 3:30 o’clock. He had been in poor health for six years.

McEvoy was born in Dubuque June 4, 1862. He had been employed as a railroad man for twenty years and later farmed near Rockwell, Ia. He was married on Oct. 6, 1886.

His survivors are his wife Mrs. Margaret McEvoy of Dubuque, one brother, Edward McEvoy, of Rockwell, Ia.; one sister, Monica McEvoy of Rockwell, Ia.; and several nieces and nephews. One son and one daughter preceded him in death.

The body is at the Didesch Funeral Home where it may be viewed until Thursday afternoon, when it will be removed to St. Anthony’s Home.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at St. Anthony’s Home Friday morning at 6:10 o’clock. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
