DEATH'S ROLL CALL
IT IS ANSWERED BY VENERABLE MOTHER

Death of Mrs. Richard Waller
Many will be pained to hear that Mrs. Mary Waller, wife of Richard Waller, died on Sunday morning. On Saturday she was in usual condition of health, attended to her household duties, as she has been in the custom of doing for years, and retired about 10 o'clock apparently as well as ever. In about fifteen minutes after retiring she complained of a severe pain in her head, and seem disposed to vomit. This she was unable to do. Mr. Waller than called Mrs. A.W. Kemler, her daughter, and administered to her for sometime when the old lady seemed to feel easier. Mr. Waller desired to send for a physician during the night, but she said "no," and this was the last word she uttered. She was conscious, seemed to understand everything that was said to her, but was unable to communicate with relatives by speech. She did not suffer. In the morning Dr. Boothby was summoned, but was unable to afford any assistance. The indications were that apoplexy had done its work.

The old lady died about 10 o'clock Sunday morning, in the presence of her bereaved husband, whose faithful partner she had been over sixty-two years, and her children and grand children. She was in her eighty first year and was one of the first settlers of this city, having come here with her husband from England in 1833, since which time she has resided here constantly, and by her industry and economy, aided him very materially in acquiring his large wealth. She was devoted to her husband, who will sadly miss her now after an association of so many years.

She leaves a son, Robert, and two daughters, Mrs. A.W. Kemler, and A.W. Hosford, about thirty grand children and six great grand children to lament her death. She was a good woman.
