The icy step of Death was yesterday heard on the threshold of Col. J. C. Shattuck. His infant son Freddie, scarcely two years old, a bright and pretty little prattler, was ruthlessly plucked from the family stem like a flower from the parent bush. Not a week ago the little fellow was full of youthful promise, now he lies cold in death. Everything that skill could do or affection suggest was done to wrest little Freddie from the unequal struggle. Kind neighbors, among whom are Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Goodrich, Mrs. Jarrett, and others were untiring in their attentions to the afflicted parents. The bereaved have the earnest sympathy of all their friends.
