Death of Mrs... Jonas

Mrs... Josephine Jonas, wife of Dan J., died at the family residence in this city of Friday morning, Sept. 5, 1890. Her maiden name was Josephine Herdeg and was the daughter of Caspar and Barbara Herdeg, and was born at Spruce Creek, Jackson County, Iowa. She was married to Dan J. Jonas of Bellevue, May 1, 1882, and resided in that city until 1887, when they returned to Cascade. Some three months ago Mrs.. Jonas was attacked by that insidious disease, quick consumption, and in spite of the best medical attendance, gradually declined and died on Friday last. She was an excellent woman, a devoted wife and affectionate mother. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her husband and four children. Her death is a sad blow to her husband and children who have the heartfelt sympathy of this community in their great affliction. The funeral took place from St. Mary's Church Sunday morning, the Rev. F. X. Feuerstein officiating
