LIFE OF MRS. McEVOY COMES TO A CLOSE

Wife of John McEvoy Passes Away Early Sunday Morning

Mrs. Margaret McEvoy, the beloved wife of John McEvoy, passed to her eternal reward Sunday morning at 5:30 o’clock, her death occurring at the family residence, 975 Dodge Street. A complication of disease in connection with the infirmities of age resulted in her death.

The deceased whose, maiden name was Margaret Carroll, was born in County Down, Ireland, a daughter of the late William and Catherine Carroll (sic. Carotte). She came with her parents to this country in 1855, the family coming directly to this city. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll (sic. Carotte) were among the prominent pioneers of this city. Fifty-one years ago Mr. and Mrs. McEvoy were united in marriage in this city, their union being blessed with seven children.

Besides her husband Mrs. McEvoy surviving relatives are her children, Mrs. William Bilderback, Mrs. Charles Stevenson, John, Edward, Charles, Dr. A. E. and Mrs. William Kinsella, all of this city, and a sister Mrs. Anna Barker, of New York City, and two brother, Edward of Tacoma, Wash., and William of California.

Mrs. McEvoy was a faithful and consistent member of the Catholic Church during her lifetime. To her good deeds of charity were known only to those whom she befriended. The funeral will take place on Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock from their family residence to St. Columbkille’s Church. The interment will be made at Mount Olivet.
