DYERSVILLE, Iowa — Daniel E. Rahe, 69, of Dyersville died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Friends may call from 2 – 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeff Dole will officiate.

Dan was born April 10, 1947, in Dyersville, the son of Leroy and Wilma (Klostermann) Rahe. He was united in marriage to Jolene Comer on Nov. 23, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farley. Dan worked at Floyds Feed Store for 20 years before selling feed on his own. In later years, he drove a tour bus for Bradley Jo and Windstar Lines. Most recently, he was a driver for Bard Concrete. Dan was a man with many hobbies through the years, but his greatest joy was time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Jolene; two children: Troy Rahe, of Dyersville, and Corinne (Cory) Ramler, of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Jack and Alyssa Ramler; three brothers: Gary (Dee) Rahe, of Dyersville, Jeff (Deb) Rahe, of Dubuque, and Daryl Rahe, of Cedar Rapids; two sisters: Kathy Chapman, of Fairfax, and Diane (Frank) Klostermann, of Atkins; three brothers-in-law: Ken (Diana) Comer, of Farley, Jerry (Joyce) Comer, of Dyersville, and Randy Comer, of Dubuque; three sisters-in-law: Donna (Pat) Strief, of Farley, Lori (Don) Allen, of East Dubuque, IL, and Gail (Bruce) Maiers, of Cedar Rapids; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Stella Comer; and three nieces.
