She was born in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of George and Gertrude (Koenig) Frommelt and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School & Immaculate Conception High School. Madonna married on October 10, 1953 at Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a secretary at Metropolitan Life Insurance & Giese Sheet Metal in Dubuque, IA, owned & managed Slender Center Weight Loss in Monroe & Freeport for 15 years, and was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church & Homemakers Club in Monroe.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Donald, Art, & George Frommelt; and sisters, Marcella (Nick) Behnke, Ruth (Herman) Behnke, Bernice (Earl) Kiefer, & Marie Frommelt all of Dubuque, IA.
