Sister Ann Regina, BVM, 101, of 1050 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at Marian Hall.
Visitation will be from 9-10:15 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, in the Marian Hall Chapel. Sharing of Memories will be at 10:15 a.m., followed immediately by the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial is in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Sister Ann Regina was an elementary and/or secondary teacher in Burlington, Iowa; Milwaukee, Wis.; Chicago; San Francisco; and Boulder, Colo. She ministered as a principal in San Francisco and Boulder, Colo. She was a parish minister in Phoenix and served the community as a Regional Representative in the Southwest United States.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1916, in Kansas City, Mo., to James and Mary Ann Cavanaugh Dobel. She entered the BVM congregation Sept. 8, 1935, from St. Aloysius Parish, Kansas City, Mo. She professed first vows on March 19, 1938, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1943.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Dobel, BVM and Regina (Tom) Dixon, and a brother James in infancy. She is survived by nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and the Sisters of Charity, BVM, with whom she shared life for 82 years.
