Little Boy Drowned

Yesterday afternoon a couple of little boys named Maus, who parents live on 18th Street, were trying to catch crawfish in Couler Creek, near the round house. Alex, seven years of age, fell in a place where the water is four feet deep, and the bank was so steep he could not help himself. His little brother, in his childish alarm and innocence, ran home to tell his mother, Sam Elmer and Charles Ruff learned what had happened and rushed to the place. Twenty minutes had elapsed before they reached the creek, and they found the lifeless body of the poor little child in the water. The little fellow who went out well but a short time before was brought back to his mother dead.
