J. Raymond Dettmann

Death summoned J. Raymond Dettmann at the residence. 1229 Lincoln Avenue Sunday evening at 12 o’clock. He had been ill only a week.

Because of the nature of his illness, the funeral held this afternoon from the home to Linwood cemetery at 4 o'clock was private.

Mr. Dettmann was born in Dubuque August 6, 1897 and had a1ways resided in this city. He was educated at the Fulton school and graduated from the Dubuque high school. He was associated with Theis & Dettmann. an automobile repair shop at 429 Rhoniberg avenue. He was married April 12, 1920, to Lucille Voelker, who with two little daughters. Betty Virginia and Altha, his parents. Mr. and Mrs. William Dettmann, his grandfather. J. W. Jones, and several aunts and uncles, survives him.

The death of Mr. Dettmann came as a shock to his many friends, as he had been ill only a short time. and the grief-stricken relatives have the sympathy of innumerable friends as he was admired by all who knew
