JOHN W. JONES.

John W. Jones, 77. died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Dettmann, 1229 Lincoln Avenue, at 6:30 o'clock Friday evening. He was in failing health for several months past, but it was not until two weeks ago that his condition became serious.

Mr. Jones was born in Platteville, Wis. For 19 years he was an employee of the Bettendorf Car Works at Davenport. He came to Dubuque 12 years ago. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death.

Surviving relatives are his daughter, Mrs. Dettmann, a half-brother, W. S. Meek, of Grand Junction, Colo., and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Dettmann home at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon and burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
