E. Tom Walser, 82, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 3150 Windsor Ave., died Monday, April 20, 2015, at Stonehill Care Center.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm today at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in High View Cemetery, Epworth, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League.

Tom was born October 4, 1932, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Thomas and Harriet (Elvidge) Walser. On October 14, 1954, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Hopkins at Grandview Methodist Church.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a farmer for 45 years and for Ender's Diagnostic Center for 10 years.

Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting and arrowhead hunting with Nancy. He almost always had a smile on his face and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Walser, of Dubuque; two children, David T. (Theresa) Walser, of Graf and Nancy (Michael) Laugesen, of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Nicole (Adam) Ulm of San Diego, Calif., and their son, Zeb, Austin (fiance Ashwina Upreti) Laugesen, of Mercer Island, Washington, Anna Weber, of Dubuque, Samantha (Nolan) Heins, of Dubuque, and Jacob Walser, of Graf; three siblings, William (Margaret) Walser, Virginia (Stan) Robinson and Shirley (Clarence) Funk and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
