DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Marvel Christina Marcov Lansing, 84, of Dyersville, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at New Hope Lutheran Church, Farley, with Pastor Burton Everist officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion Auxiliary memorial prayer at 4 p.m.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1925, daughter of Chris and Myrtle (Seeley) Marcov. She was born and raised in Dubuque. She married Eugene H. Lansing on Aug. 7, 1972, in Dubuque.

Marvel was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church of Farley, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Eugene; two sons, Doran (Lynn) Hines, of Marshfield, Mo., and Mark (Debra) Hines, of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Debra Renee Roth, of Dyersville; a brother, Joseph H. (Mary) Marcov, of Dubuque; a sister, Alyce Hines, of Dubuque; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; two special men she felt as grandsons, David Halweg and Justin Davis; she also leaves behind her cat, Zoey, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, April Faye Hines Dean; a son, Gregor Charles Hines; sisters, Bertha Defendi, Myrtle Hoppman and Ruth Thomas; brothers, Ryan, Norman and Raymond Marcov and Martin and George Tittle.

Memorials are preferred.
