DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Andrew T. "Andy" or "Nips" Knipper, 23, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Dyersville, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at his home.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, at Royal Lanes Supper Club, Dyersville, with the Rev. Corby Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 15, and from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, both at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville.

He was born on Dec. 16, 1985, in Dubuque, son of Mike and Mary (Wilhelm) Knipper. He attended Western Dubuque schools.

Andy was employed at Modernfold Inc., in Dyersville, before moving to Cedar Rapids where he worked in the HVAC and construction industries. He was displaced by the floods of 2008 and spent the following eight months helping others who also were affected by the floods.

He enjoyed spending time with his many friends, camping, fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed four-wheeling in his parents' timber. Andy's welcoming and open personality as well as his generosity will be sorely missed.

Surviving are his parents, Mike and Mary Knipper, of Dyersville; a sister, Clare, of Chicago; grandparents, Arlene Wilhelm and LeRoy Wilhelm; aunts and uncles, Muriel Boeckenstedt, Mary Anne and Jeff Huberty, David and Cindy Wilhelm, Diane Wilhelm-Johnson and Steve Johnson, Donna and Richard Lintern, Mike and Rhonda Wilhelm, Tom and Jo Wilhelm, Vicki and Brian Rehnstrom, Steve Wilhelm, Rick and Ann Pech, Dan and Kate McNeal, Phil Wilhelm and Gary Wilhelm; and many beloved cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Linus and Clara Knipper, and Helen Wilhelm.

Memorials may be left at Kramer Funeral Home in memory of Andy.
