DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Estella S. Meyers, 89, of Dyersville, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at home, following a short illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 6 p.m.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1915, in Earlville, daughter of Philip J. and Rose C. (Stoffel) Winter. She married James R. Meyers on Feb. 8, 1938, in Dyersville; he preceded her in death on May 21, 2000.

Stella was a homemaker, worked at J.C. Penney for 10 years and volunteered at the Mercy Hospital Gift Shop for more than 20 years.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Basilica, the Basilica Choir and the St. Francis Xavier Resurrection Choir for many years. She also was a host maker.

Surviving are four sons, Robert (Martha), of Brownwood, Texas, Thomas (Judi), of Buckeye, Ariz., Fred (Linda), of Cedar Rapids, and Philip (Teresa), of Show Low, Ariz.; three daughters, Mary (Don) Mulherin, of Cedar Rapids, and Judy Boge and Ellen (Dan) Tegeler, both of Dyersville; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Emmett Winter, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bob Boge; and a brother, Clarence Winter.

An Estella S. Meyers Memorial Fund has been established. Memorials are preferred.
