NEW VIENNA, Iowa - Howard "Bud" Wedewer, 76, of New Vienna, passed away Friday, June 20, 2003, at home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, with the Rev. John O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m. and a Veterans of Foreign Wars service at 7 p.m.
Mr. Wedewer farmed from 1952 to 1979 in the New Vienna area.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1926, in New Vienna, son of Arthur and Clara (Bildstein) Wedewer. He married Darlene E. Kern on Aug. 16, 1950, in Dyersville.
He served in the Korean War for two years. He was a member of the Edward W. Lake VFW Post 7736 and St. Boniface Holy Name Society.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, softball, playing cards and watching baseball.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene, of New Vienna; three daughters, Diane (Larry) Kloser, of New Vienna, Lynn (Matt) Linder, of Earlham, and Vickie (Bud) Feldmann, of Dyersville; four sons, Gary (Carol) Wedewer, of New Vienna, Carl Wedewer, of North Buena Vista, Ron (Tirzah) Wedewer, of Petersburg, and Ken (Krystal) Wedewer, of Key West; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, David (Joan) Wedewer, of New Vienna; two sisters, Bernice (Arnold) Bildstein, of Colesburg, and Elaine (Francis) Vonderhaar, of New Vienna; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Deppe, of Dyersville; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Trenkamp, of Dyersville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Deppe; and a brother, Leon Wedewer.
