Wilbert L. "Sonny" Revelle, 69, of 2815 Jackson St., died at 10:05 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Private family visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Revelle was employed as a machinist at John Deere Dubuque Works for 30 years until his retirement.

He was born on Dec. 24, 1934, in Poplar Bluffs, Mo., son of Wilbert J. and Tonieta (Bell) Revelle. He married Mary "Sue" Yager on March 7, 1986, in Dubuque.

He served in the Navy for several years. He was a member of the United Automobile Workers Local 94.

Sonny enjoyed fishing and collecting and selling nightcrawlers. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Revelle; two children, Todd Revelle, of Dubuque, and Tonna (Randy "Howie") Howell, of Hazel Green, Wis.; two stepchildren, John Fuller, of Dubuque, and Angela (Russ) Shaffer, of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; his mother, Tonieta Revelle, of Dubuque; a brother, Robert (Pat) Revelle, of Hayward, Wis.; and two nieces and a nephew.

A Wilbert L. "Sonny" Revelle Memorial Fund has been established.
