Mrs. Glen (Mattie "Belle") Smock, 80, of 11420 Rupp Hollow Road, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque.

Mrs. Smock retired after 22 years from the ESKA Company and then went on to work 12 years at The Metrix Company.

She was born on Nov. 14, 1926, in Corcoran, Calif., daughter of Carl and Willie Fern (Compton) Green. She married Glen Smock Jr. on Aug. 8, 1943, in Reno, Nev.

Surviving are her husband, Glen; three daughters, Terry Moser, of Guttenberg, Iowa, and Kerry (Gary) Massey and Gerry Anna Smock, both of Dubuque; two sons, Larry (Vicki) Smock, of Macungie, Pa., and Garry Alan Smock, of Dubuque; a son-in-law, Lynn Wittman, of Edgewood, Iowa.; 17 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sherry Wittman; two sons, Barry and Perry Smock; a grandson, Joey Moser; two sisters; and two brothers.
