Charles G. "Chuck" Minnick Sr., age 82, of Dubuque, IA, was called home peacefully at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at home with his loving family.

To honor Chuck's life, private family services have been held, and full military honors were accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., assisted the family with arrangements.

Chuck was born on March 10, 1933, in Friend, NE, son of Albert and Mildred (Beuterbaugh) Kennedy.

Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed at John Deere Dubuque Works for 17 years and eventually retired from Menards after 20 years.

Those left to cherish Chuck's memory include Chuck L. (Becky Wolf) Minnick Jr., Suzanne G. (Harold) Shaffer, Terry L. (Candie) Minnick, Sharon K. (Tom) Swift, Lisa G. (Joe) Pfab and Jeremy Minnick, all of Dubuque, IA; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Carol Jean Minnick, in infancy, and Debra Ann Minnick; and a son, Michael P. Minnick.
