Obit., T.H., 8/22/1929

Mrs. Margaret M. Pregler, 79, passed away at the residence of her son, George Pregler, Jr., 2364 Washington street, at 3 o'clock this morning. She had been ailing for eight months and had been seriously ill for the past five months.

She is survived by her husband, George Pregler, Sr., six sons, George Jr., Frank, Albert and Louis all of Dubuque; Joseph, St. Paul, Minn.; and Alphonse, Omaha, Neb.; five daughters, Mrs. Herman Burdt and Mrs. Emma Schell, Dubuque; Mrs. Leo Hillard, East Dubuque; Mrs. E. Masters, Saskiwan, Canada; Mrs. Ed. Keenan, Wilmington, Cal.; one brother, N. W. Trentz, Randolph, Neb.; thrity-five grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Two daughters and one son preceded her in death.

Mrs. Pregler was born in Prussia, Germany, in 1850. She came to Dubuque at the age of 12, and has resided here since. She was married in 1865 at St. Mary's church, which was at that time on Eighth and White streets.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart parish, the Third Order, and the Rosary Society.

The remains are at the home of Mrs. Herman Burdt, 2255 Washington street, from where the funeral will be held Saturday morning to the Sacred Heart church at 9 o'clock. The interment will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
