Marianne Hoerschelman, 78, of Andrew, Iowa, passed on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon in Lisbon, Iowa.
A celebration of Marianne's life will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from the Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:15 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the church. Burial will be at the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery.
Marianne Fuglsang was born on October 30, 1938 in Elwood, Iowa, to John L. and Marie M. (Heneke) Fuglsang. She attended country school in Jackson County and was a 1956 graduate of Andrew High School. She married Allen R. Hoerschelman on October 9, 1960 in Andrew, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2013.
Marianne had worked as a telephone operator in Maquoketa, the Andrew gas station, and as a home health caregiver for several years. She also farmed with her husband in the Andrew area for many years.
Marianne was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew and the WELCA. Through the years, she had been an active Andrew community volunteer and supporter. She enjoyed baking, gardening, playing cards, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Those left to honor Marianne's memory include her children, Gary Hoerschelman of Dubuque, IA, Lori (Brad) Edaburn of Marion, IA, Lisa Dursky of Andrew, IA, and Jan (Adam) Pyatt of Mount Vernon, IA; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bob (Nancy) Fuglsang of Dubuque, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Allen, a brother Max, and a sister Betty Whitmore.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, an Marianne Hoerschelman memorial fund has been established.
