Wm. F. Waring, Well Known
Grain Dealer, Passes
Away at His Home

Yesterday afternoon, Wm. F. Waring, an old and well-known resident of this city, passed away, aged 85 years. Coming overland from Chicago to Dubuque in 1847 he conducted a store on Main Street for a number of years. He is among the last of the great coterie of grain dealers that made their headquarters on First Street and helped to make Dubuque for many years the largest grain dealer in the northwest.

He was also a wood measurer for a number of years.

He is survived by one daughter, M. Aloysius of the Presentation Convent and one son, J. R.

The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock from the residence, 26 Holly Street, West Hill, to Mt. Olivet.
