Death of Mrs. Koepfli

On Tuesday of this week the home of Mr. T. F. Koepfli, of this city, was made a house of mourning, for the death of the beloved mother of the head of the household, Mrs. Maria Louisa Koepfli. For a year past she has been troubled with paralysis, her first attack coming a little more than a year ago, since which time she has been in a feeble state of health, and on Saturday last she received another shock, which was the immediate cause of her death. She was the relief of Dr. C. Koepfli who emigrated from Switzerland with his family 40 years ago and settled in Illinois. After a few years residence in that State he removed to Dubuque in about 1846, and resided here several years and then returned to Illinois for nearly twenty years. He again made his residence in Dubuque, six or seven years ago, and died here several years since. At the recent wedding of her grandson she felt happiest among the gay of that glad, festive night; and death seemed far away for her then, she being in unusually good health, for her, at that time, but the came and she has gone. She was a woman of more than ordinary qualities of womanhood which made friends of those she met and endeared them to her with the warmest of ties. The funeral will take place this morning from her own residence, near the Blue Church, at nine o’clock.
