Tuesday evening at six o'clock at his home in Cascade Township, James Hucker passed away at the age of 84 years. During the past winter, owing to his advanced years his condition was feeble and his days were apparently numbered.
Mr. Hucker was a man of strong character, a desirable citizen, a good neighbor, and devoted to his family. His life was one of usefulness, good works and kind deeds, and his word was a synonym of integrity and honor. His record as a
citizen of Cascade Township is above reproach; industry intelligently applied was the habit and purpose of his career, and he lived to see the fruits of his labor and judgment realized in ample provision for his family of children, who
have honored him as a patriarch, and mental him with their love and devotion in the sunset of
his life.

In the matter of his biography we are deterred by the absence of facts touching the various incidents in his life but we learned that he was born in Sommersetshire, England, about 84 years ago, and came to this country in early manhood, settling in this section about forty years since. His wife, who is a sister of Mr. Samuel Ganfield, and four children survive him. The children are Edward, James, Libbie and Annie.
The funeral took place from the residence 4 miles north of Cascade yesterday afternoon, and the remains were interred in the cemetery at John's Creek.
