PASSES AWAY AT GALENA

Galena Gazette: Emma Callaghan, the six year old daughter of Thomas H. Callaghan, of Dubuque, died at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Smith, near the fairgrounds in this city, at 1:30 o’clock Wednesday morning from diphtheria, and the remains were interned in the East Side Catholic Cemetery at 4 o’clock on Wednesday evening. The child had been ill but a few days before her demise. Her mother died a couple of years ago, since which time the little girl has spent most of her time with her grandmother. She was a bright child and greatly beloved by all who knew her. The deeply afflicted father and relative have the sympathy of the entire community.
