Fred Wilke, 85, retired Dubuque County farmer, died Wednesday morning at 5:30 o’clock following a short illness at a local hospital. The body is at the Egelhof Funeral Home for funerals, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3:15 o’clock by the Rev. J. Nevin Lyerly pastor of the Immanuel Congregational Church.

Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Mr. Wilke was born in Dubuque County July 26, 1854, and a lifetime resident of the county retiring from farming several years ago.

Several nieces and nephews survive.

Preceding him in death with his wife, Minnie Heyne Wilke, who died 1933, were his parents, one brother, Henry Wilke, and one sister Mrs. Nancy Heyne.
