Edward McDonald, Sr. Passed
Away Last Night – Aged 87 Years

Edward McDonald an old and highly respected citizen, passed away Sunday evening at 5 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hebler, in West Dubuque, aged 87 years. He was born in the County Fermanagh, Ireland, came to this country with his parents in 1842 and has ever since been a resident of Dubuque County. Mr. McDonald’s record as an honorable, honest and upright man has never been questioned during his long and useful career. Ever ready to see the bright side of life, it was always his predominant trait to make those around him happy; for that reason he was the guiding star, the bright place in the hearts of his family who will part with him with the deepest and most heartfelt sorrow. Deceased received all the consolations of the Catholic Church of which he was a lifelong member.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Ed McDonald, Jr., Mrs. Nick Hebler of Dubuque, and Mrs. Wm. Dodds of Table Mound.

All that is mortal of the deceased will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Tuesday at 9 o’clock. Services at St. Anthony’s Church, West Dubuque.
