Frank Archer Died a Natural
Death in a St. Louis
Hospital
~
The remains of Frank Archer arrived here at 11 o’clock this morning from St. Louis and interned in Linwood Cemetery this afternoon at 3 o’clock.

The statement made in yesterday’s Herald to the effect that Archer was murdered Monday night and that his dead body was found lying on the levee with his skull stove is untrue. The real facts are as follows: Archer was taken suddenly ill Monday afternoon on a steamer named Dubuque and was removed to a hospital where he expired shortly afterwards. The deceased was a member of the Dubuque’s crew and was aboard the boat when it left here last week on the first trip of the season. Archer was in good health until the steamer reached St. Louis, and, as stated above he was taken suddenly ill and died shortly after being taken to the hospital. The deceased was 27 years old. He was a resident of this city and is survived by his widowed mother, three brothers and two sisters all residing at 354 Julien Avenue.
