Michael Madigan Passes Away
Late This Afternoon at
Mercy Hospital

Michael Madigan died at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon at Mercy Hospital, aged 38 years. Deceased entered the hospital about two weeks ago a sufferer from typhoid pneumonia, and bore this hard siege and suffering patiently until the end. Mr. Madigan was the son of the late James Madigan, one of Dubuque Counties most respected farmers, who resided near the monastery, where the deceased was born and raised. He was well known in that vicinity, as well as in this city, and was respected for his high character and spotless life.
Deceased was a devout Catholic, and received the last sacrament before the end came. He is survived by three children, his wife having died about a year ago from the same disease with which he was afflicted. Two brothers, James and Joseph, also five sisters, the Misses Mary, Agnes, Nellie, Mildred and Josie, all of this city, survive him.
