Mrs. Amelia Jungk
Mrs. Amelia Jungk, 82, widow of Phillip Jungk, pioneer Dubuque baker, died at the family home, 1504 Jackson Street at 5:25 o'clock Sunday afternoon. She had been ailing for many many months, but had been seriously ill for only two weeks.
The body has been transferred from the Hoffmann Mortuary to the home, from where the funeral will be held to St. Mary's Church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. Burial will be in Mount Calvary.
Mrs. Jungk was born in Dubuque on March 7, 1857, the daughter of the late Gottlieb and Amalia Schneider, pioneer residents of the city. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish, the Rosary Society, and of the Sacred Heart League.
She was married to Mr. Jungk on Oct. 31, 1876, in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1935. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. John C. (Otilia) Stecher and Mrs. John (Josephine) Davidshofer, Dubuque, and Miss Anna and Miss Elisabeth Jungk, at home; one son, J. Carl, Dubuque; 28 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Rademacher, Madison, Wis.; and two brothers, William J. Schneider, Marinette, Wis., and Emil G. Schneider, Dubuque.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Leo.
