D. J. Hennessy’s Funeral This Morning
~
The funeral of the late David J. Hennessy will take place this morning at 9 o’clock. Services will be held at the Cathedral. Archbishop Hennessy will celebrate solemn requiem high mass and the remains willed be placed in a vault at Key West Cemetery just built by Ald. McEvoy.
A large number of clergymen from out of the city are here to attend the services, among them being Rev. Fathers J. J. Nelson, Lourdes; M. Flavin, Des Moines; J. M. Cleary, Minneapolis; W. A. Horan, Freeport, Ill,; D. J. Heelan, Barnum; Sheehy, Lincoln; J. J. McLaughlin, P. Leahy and P. Smith, Clinton.

D. J. Hennessy Leaves His Property
to the Archbishop

With the Exception of Several Bequests -
Archbishop, Thos. Connolly and
John Deery Are Executors

There was filed for probate in Judge O’Donnell’s court yesterday morning the will of the late David J. Hennessy. The instrument was made on Dec. 12, 1896, and Archbishop Hennessy, Thos. Connolly and John Deery are named as executors, without bond, and are given full power and authority to sell all of the decedent’s property without an order from any court. With the exception of the following bequests, he gives all his property to his brother, Archbishop Hennessy:

Ellen Hennessy, his sister, interest on $3,000 during her natural life.

Michael Hennessy, his brother, interest on $3,000 during her natural life.

Patrick Hennessy, his brother, $500, provided he claims it in six months.

Bridget O’Connell and Alice Sheehy, County Limerick, Ireland, his sisters, $500 each.

German Catholic Orphan asylum, $1,000.

St. Vincent de Paul, $1,000.
