Everett W. Glew Sr., 94, of 2487 White St., died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at The Finley Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Locust Street Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St., where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Farley, Iowa.

Mr. Glew owned and operated Glew's Garage, Farley, for more than 25 years. He also was past president of the Farley School Board. He later worked at John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring after 20 years of service.

He was born on Oct. 1, 1905, in Farley, Iowa, son of Walter and Elizabeth (Rohrer) Glew. He married Myrtle Thielen on Jan. 6, 1925, in Galena, Ill.; she died on Feb. 16, 1976.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and the Julien Lodge 551 A.F. & A.M.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Fox, of Dubuque; four sons, Jan (Pat) Glew and Gary Glew, both of Dubuque, Bruce Glew, of Asbury, Iowa, and Michael Glew, of Dubuque, who cared for Everett with loving care; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Michael, Everett Jr., and an infant son, Joseph; two sisters, Elsie Luxinger and Alice Crockett; two brothers, Glen and Milo Glew; and a grandson, Craig Fox.

An Everett W. Glew Sr. Memorial Fund has been established.
