The funeral of Andrew Steger, who died at his family residence in Holy Cross, Wednesday afternoon, after an illness of several years duration was held Saturday morning, at the Catholic church in Holy Cross, where a soleum requiem mass was held by Father Clark of Rickardsville, Father Hockmeyer of Buena Vista and Father McCaffrey of Holy Cross. The casket was borne by six nephews of Mr. Steger, Frank, Andrew, George, John, Nick and Adam Steger.

Mr. Steger was born in Bavaria, Germany, December 29, seventy-nine years ago and came to this country when a lad of seven years. He had been a residence of Dubuque County since early boyhood. He is survived by four sons; Henry and William of Golva, N. Dakota, Frank, of Holy Cross and Martin, of Dubuque; and four daughters, Lizzie of Golva, and Mrs. M. Schmitz, of Holy Cross, and Mrs. Anton Benda, of North Buena Vista and eleven grandchildren.
