DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Verna Watts, 63, of Dyersville, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Mercy Health Center St. Mary's Unit, Dyersville, after a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish rosary at 7 p.m.

She was a homemaker and worked at The Ertl Co. for more than 25 years.

She was born on Sept. 23, 1934, in Dyersville, daughter of Edward I. and Frances J. (Koopmann) Wessels.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Janet Feldmann Watts) Watts, of Manchester, and Edward Watts, of Dyersville; a grandson, Stephen Watts, and a granddaughter, Katie Watts, both of Manchester; and three brothers, LeRoy (Irene) Wessels, of Dubuque, Robert (Doris) Wessels, of Dyersville, and Lloyd (Eunice) Wessels, of Coggan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a special friend, Lester Jaeger.
