BANKSTON, Iowa - Gary J. Neyen, 58, of Bankston, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Clement Catholic Church, Bankston, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Neyen farmed with his brother, Albert, and his uncle, Bill Graf, in Bankston since 1949.

He was born on Aug. 26, 1942, in Graf, son of Albert and Philomena (Graf) Neyen.

He enjoyed raising and showing registered Guernsey cattle. He was very active with the Farley 4-H for many years and enjoyed taking his great-nephews fishing.

Surviving are three sisters, Shirley Ahman and Duanne Pins, both of Farley, and Carol Neyen, of Epworth; two brothers, Albert "Butch" Neyen, of Bankston, and Robert Neyen, of Farley; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William; a sister, Beverly Drees; and a special uncle, Uncle Bill Graf.
