Sean was born May 16, 2000, in Dubuque, son of Robert and Cathy (Gansen) Kenneally Jr. Sean lived in and loved Farley before moving to the country life in Peosta. Sean was about to begin his freshman year at Western Dubuque High School. He was looking so forward to the merging of his awesome circle of friends from Drexler and Seton schools.

Sean's love for fun, challenge and hard work will be forever remembered. Sean had a knack to figure things out, coining the phrase, "What would Sean do?'

Win or lose, he played football, baseball and wrestled with heart, intensity and class. While he was the youngest member of the Bernard hunting group, he cherished being treated as one of the boys. Sean enjoyed swimming at grandma's, wrenching in the garage, working with his calves, goofing off and pitching in whenever he could. Whether people knew him as Super Sean McGyver, Spike or Seanie, all would agree he lit up every room he entered with his charming smile. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Peosta (New Melleray), and a proud member of the Bobcat Nation.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Cathy Kenneally Jr., of Peosta; two brothers, Ryan Kenneally and Daniel Kenneally, both at home; his paternal grandparents, Bob and Lynda Kenneally, of Bernard; his maternal grandmother, Elaine Gansen, of Peosta; aunts and uncles, Deb (Kevin) Rea, of Fillmore, Ronnie (Jodi) Kenneally, of Bernard, Dianna (Bart) Elder, of Pella, Tammy (Denny) VanCleve, of Peosta, Jeff (Julie) Gansen, of Farley, Bonnie (Tom) Edlund, of Oakdale, Minn., Ken (Lori) Gansen, of Farley, and Billy (Wendy) Gansen, of Peosta; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill Gansen.

A Sean J. Kenneally Memorial Fund has been established.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.reifffuneralhomeinc.com.
