PEOSTA, Iowa - R. Jane Gansen, 84, of 18214 N. Cascade Road, Peosta, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Ennoble Manor, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road, Dubuque, where there will be a parish wake service at 2 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Peosta. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Jane was born March 26, 1929, daughter of Thomas and Blanche (Kringle) Delaney. She married Cyril J. "Cy" Gansen on Aug. 11, 1948, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peosta.

She belonged to and was active in the Holy Family Rosary Society and the Peosta Knights of Columbus Council 5513.

Jane liked to garden, enjoyed crafts and could do anything from knitting to ceramics. She enjoyed playing euchre, her trips to Las Vegas, the bingo hall and going to the casino. Most of all, she loved her children and spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially the "little" ones.

She is survived by her husband, Cy Gansen, of Peosta; six children, Judy (Bob Smith) Callahan, of Dubuque, Daniel (Barb) Gansen, of Peosta, Thomas (Mavonne) Gansen, of Peosta, Larry (Mary) Gansen, of Dubuque, Dale (Tammy) Gansen, of Dubuque, and Mike (Becky) Gansen, of Epworth; 17 grandchildren, Lisa, Allen, Nicole, Luke, Terry, Tracy, Kelly, Dan, Jenna, Nick, Jesse, Sara, Callie, Candy, Christy, Joe and Rob; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
