BERNARD, Iowa -- Laura L. Willenborg, 28, of 16294 Twelve Mile Road, Bernard, died Saturday Oct. 18, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, following a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Holy Family Church, New Melleray, rural Peosta, with the Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, New Melleray. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1979, in New Vienna, daughter of Gary and Kathy (Putz) Willenborg.

She attended Western Dubuque High School and later Northeast Iowa Community College, studying as a dental assistant.

Laura was employed with Great River Oral Surgery in Dubuque.

Surviving is her fiance, Dan Pfab, of Bernard; her three sons, Zach, 10, Ben, 22 months, and Caleb, who was born Aug. 6, 2008; her parents, Gary and Kathy Willenborg, of New Vienna; siblings, Deb (Ryan) Waterman, of Denver, Al (Lynne) Willenborg, of Earlville, and Jeff (Melissa) Willenborg, of Dyersville; paternal grandparents, Lavern and Betty Willenborg, of Dyersville; maternal grandmother, Agnes Putz, of Dyersville; her fiance's father, Loras Pfab, and his family, Tammy (Luke) Ameskamp, Sue (Al) Menson, Kim (Marv) Lynch and Brian Pfab; her future grandmother-in-law, Mary Pfab; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Marsha; maternal grandfather, Walter Putz; and Dan's mother, Darlene Pfab.
