Joyce L. LaRue, 61, 616 E. 22nd St., died at 10:24 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, at The Finley Hospital.

Chapel services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., with burial in Asbury Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. LaRue was a full-time homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She was born on Jan. 8, 1937, in Dubuque, daughter of Rufus L. and Lila (Chambers) Ostrander. She married William LaRue in 1960 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Dubuque; he died Oct. 23, 1989.

For the past seven years, Joyce and her fiance, Randall R. Rogers, have enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping together. She was a member of St. Matthew's Church, Dubuque.

Surviving are her fiance; a daughter, Kitty L. Katzenburger, of Dubuque; two sons, Rick R. (Betty) Wharton, of Green, Iowa, and Greg A. (Tina) LaRue, of Dubuque; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Shawn Wharton on Nov. 25, 1978, and Mary LaRue in infancy; two sisters, Mrs. William (Debra A.) Pline, on Jan. 17, 1994, and Mrs. Carl (Sandra J.) Chappell, on June 17, 1975; and a brother, Ralph Ostrander, in 1997.

A Joyce L. LaRue Memorial Fund has been established.
