Mrs. Harvey D. (Mary J. "Janie") Breiner, of 1491 Old Mill Road, died at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Asbury (Iowa) Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Breiner worked at the former Carr Adams & Collier Mfg. Company for 13 years, prior to her marriage.

She was born in Dubuque, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Nutz) Morong. She married Harvey D. Breiner on June 11, 1955, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1941. She devoted her life to her husband and family. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband, Harvey D. Breiner; two daughters, Kathy (Delmar) Kuntz, of Asbury, and Patricia (Clifford) Green, of Dubuque; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Rebecca Green; and three sisters, Ruth (Elmer) Furry, Abby (Frank) Behnke, both of Dubuque, and Rita (Swede) Pulver, of Bloomfield, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Clara and Annette; and two brothers, Joseph and Mike.

The family requests no flowers. A Mary J. "Janie" Breiner Memorial Fund has been established by her family.
