Sherri Ann Westphal, 54, of Dubuque passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at home.

Services will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 3966 Asbury Road, on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Andrea Beacham officiating. Burial will occur after the service at Asbury Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Hoffmann-Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road.

Sherri was born to Richard "Dick" Saul and Doris (Engel) Saul on June 17, 1959, in Pasadena, Calif. Originally from Waterloo, Iowa, Sherri was a 1977 graduate of Waterloo West High School.

Sherri met Gregory Allen Westphal in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1978, and eventually they were wed in 1981. Three children were born after. To her family, Sherri was the glue that held them together and was the personification of the ultimate caregiver. Whether it was at a family affair, a sporting event, or just a normal day, Sherri was only content if she was bringing others around her joy.

In a professional light, Sherri enjoyed 21 wonderful years as a secretary at Kennedy Elementary School, Dubuque, which allowed her to influence many lives with her positive attitude and ever present smile.

When not at work, you could find Sherri cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes amongst her family and friends, playing with her grandson Brady, and spending time with her loving husband Greg.

Surviving is her husband, Greg; her children, Lynette (Garrett) Frommelt, of Dubuque, Bryan (Emilie) Westphal, of Bondurant, Iowa, and Bryce (Kylee) Westphal, of Madison, Wis.; a grandson, Brady, and grandchildren on the way; her parents, Richard "Dick" and Doris Saul, of Alamo, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Richard "Dick" and Elaine Westphal, of Waterloo; three sisters, Teri (Keith) Young, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Cindy (Bob) Lentzkow, of Waterloo, Denise (Jim) Dunnigan, of Madisonville, La.; a brother, Neal (Kathy) Saul, of DeKalb, Texas; a sister-in-law, Diane Westphal, of Waterloo; along with many nieces and nephews.
