Services for Clarence F. Bock Sr., 88, of Sunnycrest Manor, formerly of 3240 Gerry Terrace, will be at 10:30am Saturday at DeWachter-Haudenshield Funeral Home, 2170 Central Ave., where friends may call from 4 to 9pm today. Burial will be in Center Grove Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Bock Sr. was a retired riverboat captain.

He was born on May 23, 1904, at Dubuque, the son of Charles and Kate (Denell) Bock. He died at 7:30 am Thursday, September 24, 1992, at The Finley Hospital. He married Bernice Buxton; she died Dec. 7, 1985. He was a longtime member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a son, Clarence (Inge) Bock Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Westemeyer, Mrs. Marian Schuster, and Mrs. Rosealine Ernst, all of Dubuque.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy J. Bye, on July 11, 1990.
