Frank G. Kremer, 85, died Monday, May 14, 2001, in Shady Rest Care Center after a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Daniel Krapfl. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where a wake service begins at 7 p.m.
Frank was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Worthington, Iowa, the son of Nicholas J. and Clara M. Besler Kremer. Frank received his education in the Worthington area schools. On Sept. 14, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cascade, he was united in marriage to Kathryn M. Rogers. He farmed in the Worthington and Cascade areas until his retirement. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish, Cascade.
He is survived by four grandchildren, Amy Peterson of Cary, Ill., David Geers of Cedar Rapids, Jake Kremer of Chicago, and Joe Kremer, stationed in Korea; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Peterson; a son-in-law, Bill (and Ginny) Geers of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Betty Kremer of Bellevue; a sister, Florence (and Karl) Spoden of Dyersville; and two sisters-in-law, Christina Kremer of Worthington and Dorothy Kremer of Cascade.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn M. Kremer on Nov. 23, 1994; a son, Roger Kremer in 1984; a daughter, Ann Geers in 1992; two brothers, Norbert and George Kremer; and two sisters, Mary Ann Beck and Clara Knipper.
